What is TFT Therapy? 

a practitioner gently taps the patient at certain meridian points and in a prescribed sequence with their fingertips .

While tapping, they focus on the thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations that they want to get rid of, like focusing on their anxiety and tightness in their chest. Dr. Callahan described the process when a person thinks about an experience or thought associated with an emotional problem, as tuning into a “thought field” and the therapy involves tapping on specific meridian points to treat the activated “thought field.”

It is believed that TFT neutralizes negative emotions and associated disturbances through meridian tapping sequences that are specific to the specific thought field. Advanced levels of TFT work with individualized treatment sequences for each thought field.

DEVELOPMENT OF THOUGHT FIELD THERAPY 
Thought Field Therapy ™ was developed by American psychologist Roger Callahan.

Combining ultramodern psychotherapy and Eastern tradition, it draws heavily on ancient Chinese medical practices including acupressure and acupuncture, which emphasize the presence of an internal energy system. These mending styles are grounded on the idea that energy overflows along a network of pathways in the body and that blockages in the system affect in physical illness.

Each pathwayalso called a" meridian," involves its own set of internal organs and ends at a specific point on the skin's face.

Stimulating meridian end points by applying pressure( acupressure) or fitting needles( acupuncture) is believed to remove blockages, restoring a normal inflow of energy, and by extensionphysical health.

In TFT, Callahan adapts and extends these Eastern principles to the treatment of cerebral issues.
